VillageBeta — tell us what's off

Beta draft — last updated October 31, 2026

Privacy

Village is a small Florida beta. This page says plainly what we keep, where it lives, who can see it and how to delete it. It is a draft written for the beta — not a compliance certification.

What Village stores

On this device only unless you sign in: the city or ZIP you pick, your household preferences (budget, indoor or outdoor, distance, accessibility), your children's nicknames, ages and interests, the ideas you save, the places you favorite, your plans and outing times, visits you mark, and the notes you write about an outing.

With your account, when you are signed in: your email address and the password you set (handled by the sign-in service, never stored by us in readable form), plus the same household preferences, child profiles, saved items, favorites, plans, visits and notes, so they follow you to another device.

  • Messages you send us: feedback, listings you suggest, and corrections you send about a listing.
  • Business drafts: whatever you type into the business listing form, kept as a private draft.
  • Anonymous beta counts: simple totals such as "an activity was opened" with no personal details.

Where it is kept

Guest use stays in your browser's local storage on this device. When you sign in, your household, child profiles, saved items, favorites, plans, visits and notes are also kept in Village's own database so they sync. Your device keeps a copy so the app works offline.

Who can see it

You, and Village's administrators. Other parents cannot open your saved items, favorites, plans, visits, parent notes, household preferences or your children's details, and none of it is ever shown on a listing. Administrators can see feedback, suggested places and listing corrections so they can act on them, and can reach your household records only to fix a problem or answer you — that is the technical access that keeps the beta running.

What we don't do

  • No ads: there is no advertising in Village.
  • No selling: we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • No location tracking: Village never asks for GPS. You choose a city or ZIP yourself.
  • No third-party trackers: no ad pixels and no social plugins. Feedback, crash reports and anonymous counts come from Village's own database.

The anonymous counts

We record plain counters such as app opened, setup started or finished, an activity opened, something saved, a plan chosen, add-to-calendar used, Surprise Me or Plan My Afternoon used, feedback sent and suggestion sent. Each counter is a single record holding only the event name and the day. There is no account id, no device id, no city and no free text. They are used to see which parts of the beta people actually use.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Your household, child profiles, saved items, plans and notes stay while your account exists. Feedback and suggestions stay while the beta runs, so we can reply and learn from them. Anonymous counters hold no personal details and remain as totals.

Deleting your data

Signed in: open Profile and choose Delete my account and data. That removes your household, child profiles, saved items, favorites, plans, visits, notes, feedback, suggestions and any business drafts you created, clears this device, and signs you out. Using Village as a guest: choose Clear data on this device on Profile. You can also email us and we will do it for you.

Children

Village is used by parents and caregivers. Children's details are optional nicknames, ages and interests typed by the parent, and are visible only to that household and to Village administrators. They are never published on a listing.

Changes and contact

This is a beta: what we store may change as the app does, and this page will be updated when it does. Questions or a deletion request: sustainabilitiesllc@gmail.com.
